Myofascial Stretching Workshop: This two hour workshop integrates the principles of myofascial release and body alignment for a stretch that will reach deep into your fascial system to decrease pain, relieve stiffness and improve your range of motion.  You will learn the how to move, stretch and use props such yoga balls, straps and blocks safely to achieve deep releases from head to toe.  This style of stretching is effective and long lasting. We’ll layer in a touch of breathing and mindfulness to bump up the effectiveness even more.

Participants should wear comfortable layered clothing. No need to bring a mat or props unless you prefer using your own.  We have what you will need. Accommodations can be made for those who have difficulty getting on the floor.

Workshop Objectives: Participants will…

  • Apply myofascial principles to their stretching routine to address pain and stiffness.

Meditation Sampler Workshop for Beginners (2 hour workshop)  The research in in and meditation is beneficial for all sorts of health problems caused by the stress we face in today’s world. This short workshop will guide you through several types of meditation to help you find a style that works for you.

Workshop Objectives: Participants will…

  • Discuss the benefits of regular meditation.
  • Experience a wide variety of meditation styles.
  • Create a plan for a personal home meditation practice.

  • Occurs the third Saturday of the month beginning from 1:30 to 3:30pm
  • Class size limited to 10.
  • Certificates of attendance available for occupational therapists.

Return to You Yoga (weekly) Has your healthcare practitioner recommended you do yoga? Or, perhaps you’ve heard about all the research that says it is good for you and think you should at least try it. Well, it is good for you when you practice safely at a level right for you. It is good for most physical and mental health issues and it is good for wellness. But, it is not everyone’s cup of tea. This ongoing class will expose you to may different styles of yoga and teach you basic skills to help you stay safe as you learn.  Each class will include safety, alignment and adaptation considerations for all fitness and skill levels.  Come if you are new to yoga or you just prefer a short regular practice and love variety!

Family Meditation Class

  • Bring the whole family to develop a family-based meditation practice. Learn to integrate meditation into your daily routine for greater calm and togetherness.

Partner Yoga

  • Come with a loved one or a friend. Learn poses you can do with a partner to challenge your balance and strength and to take your stretching to a whole new level.

Stretching, Movement and Yoga for the Pelvic Floor

  • Pelvic floor issues are all too prevalent in both men and women. This class will guide you through stretches and movements that will normalize the tone of your pelvic floor.

Getting Up and Down with Grace

  • This series of courses will measure your balance skills and fall risk then teach strategies for reducing your risk. Learn how to get up and down with grace, how to teach others to assist you, and learn (and practice) strategies for falling to minimize your risk of injury.

Self-Treatment for Partners

  • This class teaches strategies for treating yourself and others. Come with a friend, family member or significant other. Learn safe and easy to do, yet effective pain reducing techniques anyone can do.
